✨ We made it to Virginia! ✨
Snow, new keys, gravel deliveries, unpacking, vehicle pickups — it’s already been a whirlwind since we landed.

We bought our new-build home sight unseen, and now that we’re actually in it, we’re discovering a few hiccups and things we’re working through. Once we get full answers, I’ll be sharing everything — the good, the frustrating, and how the 1-year Virginia builder’s warranty comes into play. Videos and walkthroughs coming soon.

On top of settling in, we’ve already hit the ground running: gravel is being delivered to extend our driveway, we’ve unpacked what we could, and we even picked up our Toyota from the Norfolk VPC. We called ahead just to see if they had anything earlier and they actually got us right in — the whole process took maybe 30 minutes, including paperwork and waiting for them to rinse off the car. The vehicle came in great condition, which was a huge relief.

I’ll be diving deeper into the full PCS vehicle shipping experience once our other two private shipments arrive and we make our DMV run. There’s a lot to cover, especially for anyone planning an overseas PCS or shipping a vehicle for the first time.

We can’t wait to get our boys registered for school, meet our local community, and start settling into a routine. We’ve already started exploring the area and it feels like such an adventure for the whole family.
